The Puzzle Box

"“Really I don’t have it anymore; I would give it to you if I did, I swear! I didn’t know it was important, it seemed like just a toy.” Autumn tried to explain, her voice cracking in fear. “A man left with it just before you came. He got it for his daughter he took a left out of the store he might still be walking!”

Juliette smirked. She was beginning to loose her grip. Where would this guy be now? What did he look like? How can she get to him? All of these questions were coming into her head as she slowly began to loose her insanity. McNair got up from his position and spoke up sarcastically.

"Well, if you don't know where the box is anymore, there is no more use in keeping you alive." McNair raided his wand in the air, and just before Juliette was able to dis-insist, Juliette heard noise coming from downstairs. Both Death Eaters turned toward the door.

"McNair, check to see who has come to greet us. I will deal with the girl." a cringely smile came to her face as she looked at Autumn. "Kill the spare, if you must, but please do not leave me the mess." McNair went down to give his salutations. He will soon figure out that such a plan was not a very good idea.

Someone was downstairs, thank god! Maybe someone saw the mess downstairs and got help? Maybe Eric came back? Autumn didn’t know who was downstairs but she saw this as an opportunity. If she could just delay for a little bit longer, maybe the person downstairs would be able to help.

“What do you want to know?”

A simple stupify knocked down McNair right to the ground and unconcious. Chico Barked at the body to declare this moment as a sign of victory. But Eric was alert. He knew that having one Death Eater in the area is never so. They come in numbers, and for this, he kept his wand up.

Dolohov seemed to be coming down the stairs. He could hear his footsteps clinge. Suddendly they stopped, and a black smoke started Eric jumped out of the way to advoid the collision. The other Death Eater must be in aparation mode. Damn, he wasn't use ot that. Egon barked as the black smoke was coming back on its way. If Eric could just aim his wand right, he could stupify the thing. However, the rain from outside made it difficult to see anything.

Eric kept his ground. He pointed his wand toward the window as he waited for the Death Eater to arise. A black smog came closer and closer ot view as Eric's heart beat farther and farher out of his chest. There was no telling now who was going to win. A death eater whom obviously has perfected his aparation, or a mere hit wizard who only graduated a few years back. The collision was inevitable.

Just as the spell hitting its target was inconsiquential. Eric let out a stuipify and the Death Eater fell to the ground. He smiled, knowing that there was now only one thing to get; Autumn. Little did he know, the very person behind this mess was his previous dueling teacher...

"That is bet-" then she heard another crash. Something has definetly gone wrong in the shallows. Juliette turned around, but only slightly to see if Dolohov have come back.

"There seems to be someone downstairs looking for you." she said with a snarel. SHe was planning on using her as a hostage when white smoke began to appear from outsde. Aurors! They have come sooner than she had exspected. The Dark Lord would be most displeased of her failures, but even more so if she had not returned. "Blasted schrewts!" she said as she begant o hear footsteps come from the first floor.

Autumn might be escaping this after all. Someone else was there and whoever they were; they didn’t appear to be on the side of this death eater. Autumn’s brain was starting to work again as the initial shock faded. She was ready to run and apperate out of there at the first chance she got.

Then white smoke appeared outside, Aurors? Thought autumn, Thank God! But then again…hadn’t the ministry been spending a lot of time telling everyone that things were fine and You Know Who was not back. Based on today’s events he obviously was, and Autumn really hoped these Aurors could save her and report back to the ministry, the truth.

Eric ran upstairs as his dog followed behind him. The mysterious Death Eater whom captured Aututmn seemed to have dissaparated by the time he reached the second floor. That was good, but the Ministry coming here to clean up the mess was not. Eric too heard the Ministry sware that Death Eaters were not around; not again, at least, and Eric knew that The Ministry would do anything to make sure that was so. Hey, he was part of the Ministry! Koche knew their secrets as they knew his...

Eric responded, but didn't care to ask whether Autumn was o.k. They needed to get out of here before the Ministry brought them in for questioning. "Autumn, there is not much time. Quick, grab my hand." he said. Egon leaned his butt against him, knowing what was going to happen. He just hoped that the ride back home would be more enjoying than last time.

"Eric!" Autumn was relived to see a friendly face and even more relived to be getting out of danger. But she was worried, she didn't want to just leave her shop, her home, but there was no other choice. Autumn didn't know when she would see her place again, when it would be save again. Eric told her to grab on to him and she did, hoping that Eric knew more about these Death Eater and what they wanted with the box than she did.

Their world changed, both physically and emotionally. Their bodies beganto twirl as Koche began to aparate. Chico cried, but only faint as the sound of their orbiting dominated their ears.

It would be soon when they arrived at the hut- Eric;s home. He just hoped that the Ministry wouldn't find out that they were there. Autumn would most definetly be... questioned by the ministry about what she saw, and possibly brain washed if she became too public about the situation. Mayb not, but Eric heard stories. Stories about Wizards saying one thing and then another after leaving the Ministry. Normally, Eric would overlook this, but the Death Eaters showing up at Autumns completely changed his mind. There was no doubt that The Dark Lord was back. Now, he just had to find out just what to do now that he realized this.
